There are three main parts of the park:

How we divided Canyonlands up

How we divided Canyonlands up

Part 1: North. The main park is on the north end, a few more miles down the road from Dead Horse Point. This area offers dramatics panoramic views from on top a mesa. Do not miss Mesa Arch.

Part 2: Needles Overlook. A secluded, out of the way, viewpoint, that everyone who has gone, agrees that this viewpoint offers more dramatics scenes than the Grand Canyon. About 330° views off this little mesa. Make sure your camera can do panoramas!

Part 3: South. The southern end is the valley floor of Canyonlands and one can see other other viewpoints from Part 1 and 2. This is the least popular portion, but does include the famous Newspaper Rock.

This is thee area for Panoramics. If you didn’t bring a camera that can do Panoramic stitching, you brought the wrong one!

We suggest you are taking one of our whirlwind itinerary trips. If you are coming from the south, hit Canyonlands South and the Needles Overlook, then Arches, then Dead Horse Point, then Canyonlands North.
